[For History / Language / Art / Music Teachers] - Free International Creative Arts Competition The deadline is fast approaching for UK-based charity Never Such Innocence’s (NSI) prestigious 2021/22 free creative arts competition! We feel this could be an exciting opportunity for your students and we would be grateful if you could share some information with them. The international competition asks young people aged 9-18 to create a poem, artwork, speech or song to share their thoughts on Life After Conflict. NSI wants young people to share their thoughts on how people, communities and countries recover, resolve, rebuild, reflect and remember. We encourage children to use the creative arts as an outlet for engaging with challenging topics and promoting positive mental health, confidence and self esteem. We accept entries in ANY LANGUAGE! Winners in the four categories will be invited to participate in unique experiences and a unique online Awards Ceremony to celebrate their achievements. In previous years, international participants have gone on to: present their work at impressive locations such as Buckingham Palace and the German Bundestag (National Assembly), record their songs at the world-renowned Abbey Road Studios and receive letters of congratulation from Prime Ministers and Presidents. All participants will receive a special personalised certificate of commendation for their work, signed by our President, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence KCVO, CB, ADC, and our founder and CEO, Lady Lucy French OBE. We would love for as many young people to have the opportunity to take part in this free competition as possible. We hope that your students will join those from over 100 countries that have already participated in our competitions to date! Entering the competition is simple! Participants fill in an entry form online and upload a picture / file of their work. Full competition details can be found on the NSI website (https://www.neversuchinnocence.com/2021-22-competition). The deadline to enter is Friday 18th March 2022. Teachers can use the digital resources on our website to help engage their students in the competition. These include videos, worksheets and teaching resources for case studies of conflicts. If you have any questions about the competition or NSI, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Thank you for supporting NSI and giving children and young people around the world a voice on conflict. Best wishes, The NSI Team
